Formally named “Irish Gymnastics”, the organisation approached Eyekiller in 2006 for the development of their first generation website.
Five years on, the new website has been built as the centrepiece of Irish Gymnastics’ complete organisational re-brand. The new site has been designed from the ground up to offer an effective platform to engage with everyone wishing to become involved in Gymnastics in Ireland, with the user journey focusing on creating an interest amongst younger audiences whose proficiency for the sport can be developed from an early age. The website’s online strategy makes full use of a suite of Social Media channels including Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Flickr to allow Gymnastics Ireland to reach out to these audiences and drive new and relevant traffic back to the website. The website’s accessible structure guides these visitors quickly towards useful information including locating their nearest club and introducing each of the main disciplines within the sport.
The website’s members area houses recent results and news items, as well as an up to date calendar of forthcoming events and courses with the facility for members to book places online. Clubs also benefit from the website’s bespoke online management system which has been integrated seamlessly into the login area. Using this system, club administrators can manage their club details and members database online, as well as produce invoices and manage billing. Phase 2 of the Irish Gymnastics website is due to commence in early 2012 which will see the creation of an online e-commerce shop and will open up a brand new revenue stream for the organisation.
