Established in Holywood in 2002, Yard Gallery sells a unique selection of local Northern Irish artwork, prints and gifts. The newly developed website has allowed the Yard Gallery to take its complete catalogue and launch it into the online environment, increasing their exposure across the province and, for the first time, internationally.
When planning the online strategy for Yard Gallery, Eyekiller sought to create a user journey which would be as fulfilling as visiting the Gallery in real life. The website reflects the warm, friendly and distinctly quirky atmosphere which has set Yard Gallery apart on the High Street and entices the visitor to stay and view more of the collection. From the moment the visitor arrives at the homepage they are greeted by a relaxed browsing experience and introduced to a selection of new artists and art categories.
Visitors can search artwork by artist, subject, category, or price and can "follow" a particular artist by subscribing to receive live email alerts when their new work is released. A regularly updated blog encourages the visitor to learn more about the artists and their work, and return to the site more often to build their own "wishlist" gallery of artwork within the website’s login area. The Yard Gallery website is integrated with a bespoke e-commerce engine, allowing the visitor to add new artwork to their basket along with their choice of frame and checkout using the site’s secure payment facility.
Eyekiller have created a unique site which incorporates our branding and ethos into its design to perfectly reflect the gallery itself. Infact, thanks to their knowledge of design and search engine optimisation, within a day of our website launch, sales were already coming through it and have continued steadily since.
